Red Date Goji Berry Tea for a Healthy Complexion

In Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, a healthy, rosy, bright complexion is only possible when you have enough healthy blood in your system. There are many Chinese herbs that ‘build’ blood, or fortify and produce blood, but one of the best and tastiest ways to build blood is with Red Date and Goji Berry Tea!

I drink 2 cups of Red Date Goji Berry Tea everyday for healthy skin ☺️

When I take this tea everyday, I can really tell a difference in my skin - I have such a natural glow, and to top it off, that month, my period will come and go with no issues - if you have less blood in your body, your period will be more taxing on your poor little self! Since the red dates and goji berries build and nourish the blood in your system, your body will be more well equipped to handle that special time of the month 😊

What is Red Date Goji Berry Tea?

Red Date Goji Berry Tea is a simple infusion tea of two powerful little fruits! I’m sure most of you have heard of goji berry, since it’s widely touted as a superfood. These little red berries have been used in Chinese Medicine for thousands of years as medicine. Red dates are the dried version of the jujube fruit. They look like drier versions of prunes, smell like rich creamy molasses, and have a pleasant natural sweetness to them.

Chinese Medicine view of Red Date Goji Berry Tea for skin

Red dates and goji berries are perfect for building Qi and Blood, which translates to glowing skin!

There is a saying in Chinese about red dates - “if you want good skin, put red dates in your porridge!” (要想皮膚好,煮粥放紅棗)In Traditional Chinese Medicine, red dates fortify your Stomach and Spleen Qi, meaning that your digestion becomes stronger. Proper digestion is necessary for us to build the blood that carries nutrients to our skin to ensure it stays clear.

Goji berries nourish your Liver and Kidney Yin. The liver and kidney need to be in tip top shape to make sure we can preserve as much Jing essence, or life force essence, as possible! When we have more Jing, our bodies are more robust and it manifests itself in a rosy and bright complexion 😊

Where can I find Red Date Goji Berry Tea?

You’ll need to purchase red dates and goji berries separately. They can be found in grocery stores (Chinese grocers will definitely carry both. Some western grocers will carry goji berries). I found organic red dates and organic goji berries on Amazon.

How to make Red Date Goji Berry Tea?

My mother taught me to soak the red dates and goji berries first for about ten minutes, but I skip that step when I am in a rush and the results are still the same 😁

  1. Gather 3 red dates and cut them in half. They are pitted usually, so watch out! Sometimes I am super lazy and just bite them in half 😝
  2. Take a small handful of goji berries (20-30 berries)
  3. Throw them in about 500 ml of water and bring to a boil
  4. Reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes
  5. Drink the resulting liquid like you would a tea or water throughout the day
  6. Drink everyday for a healthy complexion!
My experience with Red Date Goji Berry Tea

This tea is a daily must for me. I make it as soon as I wake up and take it with my breakfast. It has a pleasant natural sweetness and I look forward to my cup every morning 😋

I used to be very Blood Deficient - my hands and feet were constantly cold, I had a listless and sickly pallor, and my skin looked dull. Since regularly taking this tea, I look a lot more healthier and it’s definitely my secret weapon for making my skin glow 🙆🏻

I really encourage all of you beauties to try this out! You’ll not only have nicer skin, you’ll *shine* from the inside out with all the blood you’ve built from this tea. Let me know if you have questions! ❤️
